Your brain runs on twenty watts. That's a dim lightbulb, but it out-thinks every data center on the planet.
Right now, the industry is building gigawatt campuses and restarting nuclear plants to get AI that's still dumber than you. Fifty million times more power, for less intelligence.
Why? Because silicon separates memory from compute, and the brain doesn't. Inference is limited by that data movement: every token re-reads its weights from memory, and moving a byte costs orders of magnitude more than computing with it. Compute waits on data, and the meter runs while it waits.
The problem this creates: your fleet serves AI below what the silicon allows. It captures about 80% of the serving value the hardware can deliver. The gap between actual and theoretical performance is due to the movement of data in silicon. The missing 20% is capacity you paid for, but cannot turn into useful intelligence.
